Axi Nue

We miss you, Axi.

Axi Nue (a.k.a Kate Carter) succumbed to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at the age of 25 on Saturday, January 29, 2005. She was a pleasure to all who knew her through The Dumpsta Players, Broken Hipsters, Ladyfest Philly, Red Skate Red, and various queer, activist, and theater companies throughout the city.

Dumpsta DJ Collective Spins Together for First Time

Throw That Beat in the Dumpsta!
Tuesday, March 30 at Silk City Lounge. 9:30-2. 21+. No cover.

It came from the Dumpsta... and landed on our turntables! The Dumpsta Player DJ Collective gets together and controls the wheels of steel for one night only.

Featuring - Sara Sherr, Nick (aka Boy Elroy), Chatty Cathy, DJ Journeyfer, and Trishylicious, tag-teaming sets for your listening and dancing pleasure. You can expect to hear a variety of stuff we salvaged from the dregs of obscurity, from new wave schlock to girls who rock, electro-junk to gypsy punk, and just about everything else in between. VJ Large Marge (aka Rich Wexler) will provide wacky projections to set the vibes.

Dumpstas Launch Seniors Tour

As part of a continuing desire for outreach, The Dumpsta Players took the show on the road on January 14th, 2004 and performed "International Follies" for a packed audience at The Saltzmann House, a Senior Citizens facility in Cherry Hill, NJ. A good time was had by all and one feisty senior remarked, "Now this is the kind of entertainment we should have all the time!" Our next Seniors Outreach Event will be on March 14th, 2004, also in Cherry Hill, NJ.
